HAITI RESPONSE

ACTION REPORT

As promised we are reporting monthly on our Earthquake response in Haiti.  A team of seven physicians, one nurse and five support staff, departed for Haiti on January 30th.  A shipment of drugs and medical supplies arrived on Tuesday February 2nd  A second shipment arrived at the airport the next day.  This shipment was sent in to Port-au-Prince.   The water mission, Thirst no More distributed the supplies.

The team physicians provided medical care to between 150 to over 200 people per day.   Our medical supplies were all distributed to the make shift clinic in a gym, where our team worked and to two hospitals.  Part of our medical team moved to a hospital to the south of Cap Haitian, were the need urgent due to the fact that they have only one doctor.  They will be returning to the States on February 14^th.

WE NOW NEED ADDITIONAL MEDICAL SUPPLIES as the present stock is almost depleted. Also, VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!

We have in our warehouses ready to ship, food, medical equipment that would fill 6 shipping container or require 17 flights in the DC 3 that bought in our medicines at a cost for fuel of $15,000 each flight.   The shipping by purchased containers is $6,500 each from our warehouse to Cap Haitian.
