URGENT APPEAL

Volunteer Dale Keener directing the distribution of emergency food supplies.  Food was distributed by CDR in three Refugee camps in eastern Sri Lanka.

Conditions in Sri Lanka are rapidly deteriorating due to increased fighting, mud slides and flooding.   Thousands are still homeless from the Tsunami which only adds to the number of Internal Displaced Persons in need of food, clean water, shelter and medical care.   Some estimates place the number of people in need of emergency assistance at 300,000.  This number is overwhelming CDR and other NGOs working in eastern Sri Lanka.

Teams of CHRISTIAN DISASTER RESPONSE Volunteers are working hard to meet emergency needs.  However your help is urgently needed to purchase additional food and medical supplies.  PLEASE PRAYERFULLY CONSIDER SENDING A GENEROUS CONTRIBUTION TODAY!

CDR volunteers distributed all of our food stocks and need more TODAY!   Volunteers are also needed for in-country service of up to six weeks.  The cost of purchasing and shipping a container of food to east Sri Lanka is $ 60,000.  Each family is provided with enriched rice, beans, tea, oil and powdered milk.  Every donation is appreciated regardless of size.  For additional information or to make a donation please call 863-967-HELP (4357) or make a donation on this web site using PayPal.
